One Acre Fund MEL Lead Jobs in Zambia;The MEL Lead will run day‑to‑day field data collection operations, strengthen data quality, manage 13‑person field implementation teams, and coordinate the survey lifecycle from questionnaire scripting to field deployment.

The role ensures climate‑smart agriculture and agroforestry programmes are backed by rigorous evidence to drive impact for smallholder farmers in Zambia.

Key Responsibilities

Survey Design & Data Management

  • Design statistically sound data collection instruments and methodologies.

  • Establish rigorous data management workflows and automated quality checks.

  • Audit and improve data collection processes to streamline reporting.

    Survey Analysis

  • Analyse survey data using R, Python or similar software.

  • Apply regression, multi‑level modelling and difference‑in‑difference methods.

  • Translate findings into actionable recommendations and contribute to yearly impact report.

    Field Implementation & Team Management

  • Coordinate large‑scale field survey implementations.

  • Manage, mentor and build capacity of field teams and supervisors.

  • Plan complex field logistics and enforce strict validation protocols.

    Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operational managers and global advisors.

  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.

  • Serve as key contact with Global MEL team, sharing performance data and learnings.

    Qualifications

  • Prior experience supervising field teams in rural environments.

  • Demonstrated capability in training and coaching junior staff.

  • Strong ability to manage timelines and resolve field issues.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
