One Acre Fund Fruit Seedlings Coordinator Jobs in Zambia; This role is responsible for the coordination and oversight of fruit seedling nursery operations across decentralized production sites. Key responsibilities include propagation management, nursery monitoring, vendor oversight, and coordination of timely distribution of fruit seedlings. The role ensures seedlings meet quality standards and are delivered efficiently to beneficiaries.
ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership (Budding & Grafting) Serve as subject matter expert in fruit seedling propagation.
Develop and standardize propagation protocols for different fruit tree species.
Ensure best practices across nurseries and supplier operations.
Program Planning & Execution
Lead seasonal planning of fruit seedling production (April–December cycle).
Forecast demand and align production with distribution targets.
Coordinate procurement of inputs (rootstock, scions, soil media, etc.).
Ensure timely nursery setup and readiness.
Nursery Capacity Building & Training
Train nursery managers and staff in budding, grafting, seedling care, pest control, and nursery hygiene.
Conduct regular on-site coaching and performance assessments.
Develop training materials and SOPs for ongoing learning.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Develop monitoring tracker to oversee milestones and challenges.
Track KPIs such as survival rates, grafting success, and production volumes.
Conduct field visits and prepare periodic reports.
Team Management
Manage and mentor the Fruit Seedlings Supervisor.
Set clear targets, provide guidance, and monitor performance.
Distribution & Last-Mile Coordination
Plan and oversee seedling distribution to farmers.
Coordinate logistics for timely and efficient delivery.
Ensure
proper handling during transportation.
Research & Learning
Collaborate with external experts and OAF countries to adopt best practices.
Develop initiatives and trials to improve seedling program execution.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry, or related field.
Specialized training in plant propagation or fruit tree management is an added advantage.
Experience
3–5 years of hands-on experience in fruit tree propagation (budding and grafting at scale).
Proven experience managing large-scale seedling production.
Experience with external suppliers/vendors and quality control.
Experience in training or capacity building of field teams or farmers.
Program/project management experience including planning and execution cycles.
