    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director is the Principal Accounting officer of the company and is responsible for the day to day operations of the company.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Developing for approval of the Board, strategic and business plans, including annual
    work-plans, budget and performance targets,
  • Ensuring effective strategic plan for the company
  • Ensuring safe custody and management of company’s assets
  • Providing strategic leadership and direction, including the management and
    development of the human resources of the company,
  • Planning, coordinating and implementing all activities of the company in line with the
    policies and directives approved by the Board of Directors
  • Ensuring proper management, operational efficiency and corporate reporting
    requirement of the company
  • Promoting the company’s image and developing a good working relationship with all
    stakeholders and partners,
  • Ensuring compliance with Government policies and regulations.
  • Developing and maintaining a conducive working environment for attracting, retaining
    and motivating employees
  • Fostering a corporate culture that promotes best ethical practices and good corporate
  • Attending to personnel matters, including development and maintenance ofm organizational structures, appointments, welfare, training, industrial relations, separation and effective management of succession plans
  • Effective day to day management and ensuring continuous development of the capacity
    and competence of the Company’s staff
  • Ensuring that there is effective communication between the management and the Board
    of Directors as well as between different levels of management
  • Anticipating technological and other important developments and/or potential risk and
    formulating relevant policies for approval by the Board of Directors
  • Secretary to the Board
  • Liaison officer with all stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with /License conditions as provided by (WASREB)
  • Any other responsibilities as may be necessary to achieve the company’s objectives

    Job Specifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Water Engineering/ Environmental Science
    or a related water science from a recognised university. A Diploma or Higher Diploma
    in Water Engineering will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in water and sewerage development, management
    and operations in a recognized organization
  • Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Kenya
  • Must be a Kenyan
  • A sound understanding of the reforms taking place in the water sector in Kenya
  • Good unblemished record in management, high level of integrity, results orientation,
    managerial and administrative skills backed up by a demonstrable track record.
  • This position is on three (3) years renewable contract upon satisfactory performance by
    achieving the set targets indicators.
