Job Summary

Scope

The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising the proper organization of the Linen/Uniform Room.

Is responsible for the controlling of Linen and Uniforms in accordance with the procedures and standards established by the hotel.

Overall Objective

The job of the Linen Room Supervisor is executed satisfactorily when:

  • All uniforms are up to Ole-Sereni Standard and employee’s satisfactory
  • All linen is clean up to Ole- Sereni standard
  • All tasks are fulfilled before the end of the shift
  • The uniform room is clean and well maintained

    Responsibilities
  • To ensure the uniform standards of Ole-Sereni are met at all times.
  • Maintains proper schedules for operating timings of the Linen/Uniform Room.
  • Reports damage or misuse of linen to Laundry Manager and Executive Housekeeper.
  • Organizes and supervises the daily, weekly and periodical cleaning and general upkeep of those areas for which he/she is responsible.
  • Checks linen closets to make sure they are neat and supplied with linen according to occupancy forecast.
  • Reports to the Laundry Manager and Executive Housekeeper on linen and uniform shortages in a timely manner to ensure a smooth operation at all times.
  • He/she is responsible to the Laundry Manager and Inventory Controller for the physical linen stocktaking.
  • Responsible for the weekly discard with the accounts department, and ensures the Laundry Manager/Executive Housekeeper receives a copy of the discard report.
  • Ensures that the stamping/dying of discarded linen is done in coordination with the weekly discard.
  • Ensures the clerical systems of linen and uniform issuing and receiving are maintained.
  • Keeps accurate record of linen and uniforms, and update all the files.
  • Co-ordinates with uniform suppliers on measurements for staff.
  • Receives new uniforms and check the quality.
  • Co-ordinates repairs of linen and uniforms.
  • Co-ordinates with respective outlets for their normal operation and theme nights.
  • Co-ordinates with Laundry Manager for sampling of new linens and uniforms.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of curtains in guestrooms and public areas.
  • Helps in Laundry during busy periods.
  • Assists in Housekeeping as Ordertaker whenever necessary.
  • Ensures the smooth operation and efficiency of the assigned areas.
  • Studies and evaluates the operation procedures and suggest improvement
    to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Handles minor repairs of linen and uniforms in the absence of the tailor.
  • Understands and strictly adheres to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
  • Maintains all equipment in good and clean condition.
  • Ensures that all employees provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
  • Ensures that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the complete uniform and name tags at all times.
  • Assign responsibilities to subordinates and check their performance.
  • Answers all guest questions/requests in a friendly and caring manner, takes appropriate action, or if needed, refers the matters to the relevant persons to handle.
  • It may be providing information, giving an extra item such as a towel, etc.
  • Flexible in shift timings and days.
  • Attends training sessions or communication meetings as advised by the Laundry Manager.
  • Knows and adheres strictly to Lost & Found procedures.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
  • Promotes team work.
  • Training of new staff on the assigned areas and conduct re-training/refreshers in order to maintain awareness of all the staff on its function and responsibilities.
  • Cost efficient usage of equipment.

  • Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
  • Required relevant work experience: 2 years
