Job Summary

A Security Supervisor oversees the effective management of the daily routine under the guidance and leadership of the Deputy/Chief Security Officer.

He is responsible to ensure that the security guards comply with the Security Standing Orders pertaining to the premises during his Shift duty.

The supervisor's job is to guide the group toward its goals, see that all members of the team are productive, and resolve problems as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Ability to project an image of friendliness, professionalism and willingness to provide personalized service.
  • Ability to exhibit teamwork.
  • Ability to honor the guest, employee, and hotel confidentiality policy.
  • Knowledge of the Fire Fighting and emergency response procedures.
  • Ability to able walk/ run up stairs carrying a fire extinguisher.
  • Ability to provide First Aid and CPR. Maintain certification for CPR and First Aid given by the hotel.
  • Ability to maintain proper post and proper posture.
  • Ability to able to walk long distances during patrols and to stand for long periods of time

    Responsibilities
  • To supervise all security personnel and ensure smooth functioning of the department
  • To plan and monitor the duty rosters of all security personnel
  • To conduct daily departmental briefings and assign shift-wise responsibilities
  • To ensure that all employee checking and time office procedures are adhered to at all times
  • To ensure that all other operational procedures viz., gate pass, key control, etc are adhered to at all times
  • To inspect records filled in by the security guards related to visitors’ entry, gate pass register, key register, employee movement register, etc.
  • To make periodic ‘Rounds’ to check alertness and compliance of Standing Orders.
  • Patrol all guest floors and corridors, checks doors, elevators, lights, fire equipment, storage areas and stairwells to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions
  • Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property
  • Responsible for administering First Aid in case of any emergency requiring first aid measures.
  • Respond to all reported disturbance calls throughout the hotel, providing notice of warning to those involved as required
  • Respond to all calls regarding undesirable persons and if necessary, evicts undesirable persons from the Hotel
  • Respond to calls
    for assistance in dealing with a belligerent guest or disturbance originating in another room or a suspicious character loitering in the stairwell.
  • Protects staff/guests of the Hotel from acts of obnoxious guests
  • Advises Chief Security Officer of all activities by staff/guests that are inconsistent with Hotel policies
  • Ensures all security precautions are taken at special functions, banquets, parties, etc.
  • Checks all unattended cash drawers and maintains general surveillance when Hotel funds are at risk
  • Maintains chronological log on all security functions performed during shift and completes incident reports as required
  • To inspect all fire safety equipment and ensure that their scheduled maintenance is carried out regularly
  • To conduct fire safety exercise periodically with all security staff
  • To supervise the handling of all emergency situations
  • Assists Chief Security officer in special investigations; Performs other related duties as required
  • Responsible for keeping track of all lost and found items and preparation of end of the month inventory
  • Responsible for enforcing rules such as preventing guests from swimming late past the stipulated hours , preventing children from swimming in the pool alone without adult supervision, directing guests their on parking space etc
  • To carry out any duties assigned by the Chief Security Officer
  • To ensure strict adherence to grooming and hygiene standards by all security personnel
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of duty rosters and ensure all shift are manned in relation to amount of work
  • To participate in any training/development schemes required by management
  • Participate in the hotel’s social responsibility programme

    Job Requirements
  • Required education: Bachelor's degree
  • Required relevant work experience: 2 years
  • Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
