Job Summary

A Plumber maintains, troubleshoots, and tests plumbing systems; assembles, installs and repairs pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures; cuts, threads and welds pipes; assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings and pipes; inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspects related work performed by contractors; estimates cost, time and materials for plumbing projects; cleans, maintains and services tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.

Qualifications

Hold a Government Trade Test Grade 1 in plumbing & drainage

Three years of working in a building maintenance environment as a Plumbing technician is required

Must have fundamentals of plumbing theory relating to the installation and testing of water supply and distribution system

Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the plumbing trade

Responsibilities

To ensure that all sanitary and plumbing system are well maintained according to schedule and instructions

To ensure the work as described on the work order form is carried out as quickly as possible, accurately, skillfully and economically, and completed in full

Maintenance of hot and cold water supply system sewerage water treatment plant, grease traps, fire and fresh water tanks etc.

Checking periodically and recording of fresh tank levels ensuring that sufficient (minimum) water level is maintain at all time.

Report immediately any malfunction of equipment or unusual sights to the Supervisor.

Maintain the area & equipment under his charge his charge in proper condition in terms of performance and cleanliness.

To advice his supervisor in the event of restoring stock levels in respect of materials.

To work in such a manner as to ensure the safety of self and others

To give proper and complete handover at the end of his shift

Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor/Chief Engineer

Participate in any training/development schemes required by management

Participate in the hotel’s social responsibility programme

To adhere to strict grooming and hygiene standards

To follow the house rules and policies laid down by the management

To comply with company regulations as stipulated in staff handbook, regarding uniform, timekeeping and general conduct.

To comply with any statutory and legal requirement for fire, licensing, health and safety and to ensure that you are working in accordance with these requirements

Job Requirements

Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree

Required relevant work experience: 3 years

Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
