Job Summary

To sell available banquet space with a view to promote food and beverage sales through conferences, conventions, meetings etc

Qualifications

  • Graduate in marketing or business studies is preferred
  • Past Sales experience in a business-to-business, large/strategic customer segment;
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals
    Proactive sales approach; assertive and fast-paced, driven to succeed
  • Strong closing skills
  • Execute compelling site inspections that lead to impressive closing ratios
  • Creativity in sales proposals to advance business opportunities
  • Ability to up-sell and have strong knowledge of hotel facilities
  • Ability to create and deliver impactful presentations
  • Track record of developing long term relationships
  • Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints

    Responsibilities
  • To achieve optimal profitable business through exceptional Client Account Management and Sales Activity Management.
  • To ensure that Banquet Department functions as an optimum revenue generating and profit centre
  • To aggressively source for new business potential and to actively promote the hotel as a potential events venue
  • Utilize past users of Ole-Sereni Hotel by re-contacting them to identify future potential and secure repeat business.
  • Develop New Accounts: Capture competitor's accounts through networking and research in order to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business.
  • Acquires referrals from existing accounts: Follows up on all leads in an effort to create new business for the hotel
  • To make regular sales calls and maintain a systematic record of sales calls made, with corresponding room nights booked with various accounts
  • To negotiate rates with the client so as to get the best deals for the Hotel as well as the client
  • To co-ordinate with the executive chef regarding the menu and its pricing or on any special requirements
  • Understands and works closely with Reservation Department to ensure target ceilings and rates are met
  • Communicates accurate information on in-house groups to help hotel associates service their needs most completely.
  • To be in regular contact with all clients to ensure Ole-sereni Hotel is at the forefront of their event venues.
  • Identify companies with ad hoc business requirement to maximise meeting and bedroom occupancies at all times.
  • Actively visit staff in offices within your market segment to promote the hotel facilities so as to ensure Ole-sereni is the first call when need for accommodation, conference or food & beverage arises.
  • Forward to the Sales & Marketing Manager Daily, Weekly and monthly reports of sales and marketing activities
  • Be proactive on sales visits and site inspections so as to introduce new
    business.
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales & marketing Manager to achieve PR for Ole-Sereni.
  • Participate in trade exhibitions and promotions as required.
  • Follow up on sales leads and conference enquires to identify new business.
  • Carry out regular competitor analysis in order to ensure we keep at the top in the market place.
  • Construct and send proposals, pricing and contracts to clients
  • Ensure proper completion of all contractual documents
  • To help the accounts department in the realization of outstanding payment from guests
  • Meet and exceed set sales targets
  • Maintains daily contacts with in-house groups.
  • Interact with customers during meetings or conventions within the hotel through personal welcome, periodic contact and participation in pre or post convention meetings.
  • Contact and entertain clients not only during their site visits but also while groups are in-house.
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales &Marketing Manager in creating sales and marketing/ advertising plan.
  • Ensure all sales activities and reports are accurately presented within the stipulated deadliness.
  • To ensure maximum customer satisfaction by responding to or anticipating customer requirements in a friendly and efficient manner,
  • so providing a consistent high level of service.
  • Develop a one to one relationship with clients in your market segment and ensure we host all their Conferences, Banquets and outdoor Catering Services.
  • Participate in daily Rev Max meeting, sales strategy meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings as required
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • To participate in any training/development schemes required by management
  • Participate in the hotel’s social responsibility programme
  • To comply with company regulations as stipulated in staff handbook, regarding uniform, timekeeping and general conduct.
  • To comply with any statutory and legal requirement for fire, licensing, health and safety and to ensure that you are working in accordance with these requirements.

  • Required education: Bachelor's degree
  • Required relevant work experience: 3 years
