To develop and foster a positive image and relationship between the hotel and the public, This person will be in charge of the Press and Public Relations activities of the Hotel; including the development and execution of innovative Public Relations initiativesGraduate in public relations or marketing or hospitality management preferred
Excellent communicator, with experience of public speaking and good interpersonal skills
Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; establish priorities; organize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously; Ability to coordinate production and printing of publications and promotional materials in an effective and appropriate manner;
Ability to edit and proof written copy for publications, broadcast, and other media outlets;
Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action
Plan and direct public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for the employer or client.
To develop and maintain a database of media contacts.
Planning, developing and implementing PR strategies;
To review internal promotional items on a regular basis to ensure that all Hotel signs, posters, tent cards etc are adequate, visually effective, and consistent with the company standards
Liaising with and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations, often via telephone and email;
Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media
Supervising the writing and editing of Ole magazine
Preparing and supervising the production of marketing and promotional materials
Design and launch email marketing campaigns.
Managing social media
Managing brand audit standards
Supervise taking of photographs and prepare news release of events undertaken by the hotel
Organising events including press conferences, exhibitions and press tours
Maintaining and updating information on the organisation's website;
Work with Sales & Marketing Manager to develop a budget and manage expenses to that budget.
Ensure optimum publicity is created for all major hotel happenings
Answers to complaints from clients, guests and the general public
Fostering community relations through events such through involvement in community initiatives;
Organizes both internal and external PR activities. e.g. inter-departmental or in-house activities
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Sales & Marketing Manager.
To participate in any training/development schemes required by management
Participate in the hotel’s social responsibility programme
To comply with company regulations as stipulated in staff handbook, regarding uniform, timekeeping and general conduct.
To comply with any statutory and legal requirement for fire, licensing, health and safety and to ensure that you are working in accordance with these requirements.
Required education: Bachelor's degree
Required relevant work experience: 3 years
