Job Summary


Responsible for the implementation of the established work and hotel’s policy and procedure, maintains supervision and discipline of staff and participates.

Overall Objective

  • The job of the Laundry Supervisor is executed satisfactorily when:
  • All processed linen and laundry is cleaned up to Ole-sereni Standard and guest satisfactory
  • All tasks are fulfilled before the end of the shift
  • The Leading Quality Assurance in the hotel reach the target
  • The laundry is clean and well maintained

  • Assist the Laundry Manager in all operational activities of the Department.
  • Coordinates the daily operation against the linen requirements of the Hotel’s outlets, guests’ and executives’ articles and outside Contracts.
  • Implement operational and administrative instructions from Superiors, monitor its implementations and do the needed follow-up when required, to make sure that every policy and procedures and the highest quality of services are followed and delivery deadlines are meet.
  • Training of new staff on the assigned areas and conduct re-training/refreshers in order to maintain awareness of all the staff on its function and responsibilities.
  • Checks and maintain regularly the established quality standard of all items/articles processed and ensure it is always strictly observed at all the time.
  • Prepares a daily checklist and operation reports and submit to the Laundry Manager at the end of the working day.
  • Prepares a monthly duty roster and shifting of staff as necessary, with the approval of the Laundry Manager.
  • Checks/monitor the running conditions of all the machinery and equipment and initiates maintenance request/orders as required and follows up with the Maintenance Department whenever necessary.
  • Takes note of any operational problem, equipment breakdowns, unusual activities and other notable situations and make necessary corrective measure or reports to the Laundry Manager for proper action.
  • Ensures that the necessary chemicals and other supplies used in the operation are in stock level and available at all times. Initiates requisition whenever necessary.
  • Ensures that safety and security measures of the whole department and staff are strictly observed.
  • Maintains discipline of staff at all times.
  • Takes charge of the Department’s operation in the absence of the Laundry Manager.
  • Ensures that all employees provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
  • Ensures that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the complete uniform and name tags at all times.
  • Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of the whole Department at all times.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
  • Plans and co-ordinates all activities of every section of the laundry such as handling linen, dry cleaning and uniforms in order to meet hotel business requirements and standards.
  • Checks the cleaning of guest and employees clothes,
    uniforms and linen of the hotel in order to meet the needed quality standards and takes corrective actions when necessary.
  • Co-ordinates and supervises the work of all subordinates and makes the schedule of the whole department.
  • Organizes and supervises the daily, weekly and periodical cleaning and general upkeep of those areas for which he/she is responsible.
  • Verifies the laundry equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning.
  • Identifies the laundry departments training needs, develops the training plan and gets the approval of Executive Housekeeper before the implementation of training.
  • Keeps up to date a list of requests for linen and uniforms for each department so that they are in line with their budget.
  • Handles guest complaints and give further instructions to the employees if needed to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assigns responsibilities to subordinates and check their performance.
  • Reports sick and irregular behavior employees immediately to the Laundry Manager or Executive Housekeeper.
  • Attends training sessions or communication meetings as advised by the Laundry Manager.
  • Understands and strictly adheres to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, and Health & Safety
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
  • Maintains all equipment in good and clean condition.
  • Answers all guest questions/requests in a friendly and caring manner, takes appropriate action, or if needed, refers the matters to the relevant persons to handle.
  • It may be providing information, giving an extra item such as a towel, etc.
  • Flexible in shift timings and days.
    Knows and adheres strictly to Lost & Found procedures.
  • Promotes team work and follows code of conduct
    Training of new employees.
  • Cost efficient usage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
  • Follows company grooming standards, policies and procedures
  • Reports any work related accidents happened on premises
  • Familiar with evacuation procedures.
  • Maintains good relationship with coworkers in the Laundry and other departments throughout the hotel.

  • Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
  • Required relevant work experience: 2 years
