Our client in the Oil & gas industry is looking to hire competent, self-driven candidates for the role of NGO Officer reporting to NGO Manager/Coordinator.
Job Purpose
To understand and elaborate on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO)/Civil Society Organization (CSO) landscape for Crude Oil Pipeline project.
To maintain a daily engagement with all NGO’s on recent updates and ensure a clear and comprehendible communication amongst all parties involved.
To ensure that NGO/CSOs data is collated and verified.
To build and report weekly including grievances from site and generate monthly reports on activities to be shared with the stakeholders.
To organize biweekly NGO/CSO progress meetings with interested parties, the affiliate and Headquarters.
To support the Social Team Lead and Land Project Manager on monitoring and evaluation.
To support the scale-up and further expansion of outreach to NGO/CSOs which may include but not limited to; the work plan design, target of NGO/CSO analysis as well as the overall coordination advice.
To be the focal point for coordinating and responding to requests, conduct site verification visits when required and work at resolving issues arising from NGO/CSO animators in the field.
To contribute to capacity building activities and adhere to
any ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences and other relevant degrees to the related field.
A mature and confident individual with good interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills –must be able to communicate effectively, articulate their view (verbally and in writing) and actively listen to other points of view.
Good organizational skills with a proven ability to multi-task whilst prioritizing own work, with minimum supervision.
IT literacy – must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Access).
Familiarity with modern records management software applications is an added advantage.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a team.
Excellent Reporting and summarizing skills.
