Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Officer – Child Rights Investigations Jobs in South Sudan;The Human Rights Officer will support the Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan, focusing on child rights investigations.
The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Chief of Investigations and overall supervision of the Coordinator of the Commission.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct investigations into child rights violations in conflict and post‑conflict settings.
Collect, analyze, and evaluate information from multiple sources.
Draft human rights reports and assessments.
Identify political, ethnic, racial, gender equality, and socio‑economic dimensions of human rights issues.
Ensure gender perspectives are incorporated into all areas of work.
Collaborate with colleagues to achieve organizational goals.
Participate in planning, organizing, and monitoring investigative activities.
Provide input into operational strategies and methodologies.

Requirements
Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Social Sciences,
or related field.
First‑level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted.
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human rights required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in child rights investigations required.
Experience in conflict or post‑conflict settings desirable.
Languages
English required.
French is also a working language of the UN Secretariat.
