Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Driver Jobs in Kenya; This position is located in the administrative unit of the OHCHR Kenya Country Office, Nairobi. The incumbent reports to the supervisor of the unit and provides safe, reliable driving services and administrative support to ensure smooth office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicles safely for the transport of authorised personnel.

  • Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other items.

  • Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities.

  • Perform day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles (oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc.), carry out minor repairs, arrange for other repairs, and ensure vehicles are kept clean.

  • Log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, and greasing.

  • Follow required steps in case of involvement in an accident.

  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and preparation of presentations and reports for information sharing, planning, and decision-making.

  • Support visualizations and updating of information materials such as web pages or brochures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Professionalism: Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, road conditions, and safety awareness. Ability to perform data analysis and interpretation in support of decision-making.

  • Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively, listens attentively, interprets messages correctly, and demonstrates openness
    in sharing information.

  • Client Orientation: Considers all service recipients as clients, establishes productive partnerships, identifies needs, and ensures timely delivery of services.

    Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Job-Specific Qualification

  • Driver training with a valid category B and C driver’s license required.

    Work Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a driver with a safe driving record required.

  • Experience driving a variety of vehicles, including vans and other motorised vehicles required.

  • Experience working as a professional driver with an international organization such as the United Nations or similar required.

  • Experience in vehicle maintenance desirable.

    Languages

  • English required.

  • Kiswahili desirable.
