Job Description

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under supervision of a senior officer.

Terms and Conditions of Service

Basic Salary: Kshs. 62,339 - 78,725 PM
House Allowance: Kshs. 16,500 PM

Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 4,000 PM
Leave Allowance: Kshs. 15,000 PA

Annual Leave: 30 working days PA

Medical Cover and other allowances: As provided by the ODPC

Terms of Service: Permanent and pensionable

Job Specification

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have;

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;

Bachelor’s degree in either Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (Supplies Management option) or Commerce (Supplies Management option) or its equivalent qualifications from recognized and accredited institution;

Or

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Commerce plus a Diploma in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution;

Registration with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies or relevant recognized professional body; and

Proficiency in computer applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

Preparing statutory reports (Direct Procurements,

Quarterly reports, Termination of Procurements);

Monitoring contracts and vendor performance;

Maintaining an effective stores management system;

Secretary to the tender opening, processing, evaluation and disposal Committees;

Carrying out expenditure analysis and preparation of exceptional reports;

Managing of records of all procurement processes;

Carrying out market surveys;

Preparing disposal certificates and disposal reports; and

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Principal Supply Chain Officer.
