Oasis Healthcare Management Consultancy Limited Palliative Care Specialist Jobs in Kenya; The Specialist will provide comprehensive care to patients with life-limiting illnesses by
addressing their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. The role focuses on improving
quality of life, alleviating suffering, and supporting patients and families through serious illness and end-of-life care.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess and manage pain and other distressing symptoms such as nausea, breathlessness,
anxiety, and fatigue in patients with serious or terminal illnesses.

2. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families,
and healthcare teams.

3. Provide end-of-life care and guide patients and families in decision-making aligned with
their values and goals.

4. Facilitate advanced care planning and ensure that Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) or other
directives are respected and implemented.

5. Offer emotional, and psychological support to patients and caregivers facing life-limiting
conditions.

6. Conduct family meetings to discuss prognosis, treatment goals, and care preferences.

7. Educate patients and families on disease progression, symptom management, and
available care options.

8. Work closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and psychologists to
deliver holistic palliative care.

9. Coordinate home-based palliative care where applicable and facilitate seamless
transitions of care.

10. Provide training and mentorship to healthcare professionals on palliative care principles
and practices.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent.

2. Postgraduate qualification or certification in Palliative Care.

3. At least 3 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 1 year in palliative care

4. Valid practicing license from KMPDC
