Oasis Healthcare Management Consultancy Limited Oncology Nurse Jobs in Kenya; The Oncology Nurse will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cancer diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. This will include administration of chemotherapy, management of symptoms, emotional support and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer treatments as prescribed.

2. Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after treatment, taking prompt action as
necessary.

3. Perform patient assessments and document vital signs, symptoms, and progress
accurately.

4. Assist in managing side effects of cancer treatments.

5. Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and self-care.

6. Offer psychological support and counseling referrals to help patients cope with diagnosis
and treatment.

7. Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, laboratory staff, and other team members in
treatment planning.

8. Schedule and follow up on diagnostic tests, treatment appointments, and referrals.

9. Maintain accurate patient records and communicate changes to the medical team.

10. Observe and enforce infection prevention and control protocols.


Qualifications

1. Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.

2. Higher Diploma in Oncology Nursing

3. Valid nursing practice license from the Nursing Council of Kenya (or relevant
regulatory body).

4. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy clinical setting; experience in an oncology
unit is an added advantage.

5. Training in chemotherapy administration and handling hazardous drugs is an asset
