Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company Mechanic Assistant II Jobs in Kenya; We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Mechanic Assistant II to support the maintenance and repair of company vehicles and motorcycles.
The role involves routine servicing, diagnosing mechanical faults, conducting inspections, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with occupational safety standards.
The ideal candidate should possess technical expertise in automotive or mechanical engineering, with the ability to maintain accurate records and support reliable transport operations.

What You Will Do

  • Carry out routine servicing and preventive maintenance of company vehicles and motorcycles.

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and undertake necessary repairs.

  • Conduct inspection and testing of vehicles and motorcycles to identify defects for appropriate repair processes.

  • Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and emergencies.

  • Keep accurate maintenance and repair records for all assigned vehicles and motorcycles.

  • Recommend replacement of worn‑out or defective parts and components.

  • Ensure proper use and safe custody of tools, equipment, and spare parts.

  • Support the transport section in preparation of maintenance schedules and service plans.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health standards in the workshop.

  • Conduct daily vehicle and motorcycle condition checks and report abnormalities.

  • Support field operations by ensuring
    availability and reliability of transport.

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the workshop area.

    Education and Experience
  • KCSE minimum grade D+ or equivalent.

  • Craft Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience in vehicle or motorcycle maintenance.

    Skills
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults.

  • Good record‑keeping and documentation abilities.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.

  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
