Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the administration and delivery of services in the respective Departments and decentralized units;

Participate in the planning, formulation, adoption and implementation of the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP);

Implement the County legislation;

Implement, in the County, National Legislation to the extent that the legislation so requires;

Effectively respond to issues raised by the County Assembly;

Advice the Governor on matters relating to the Department; and

Undertake any other responsibility as may be assigned by the Governor from time to time.

Requirement for Appointment
For appointment to this post, the candidate must:

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Be in possession of a First degree from a University recognized in Kenya;

A Master’s degree in the field will be an added advantage;

Have knowledge, experience and distinguished career of not less than five (5) years in the relevant field to the portfolio of the Department to which the candidate is seeking to be appointed;

Have a clear understanding of the diversity, challenges and opportunities within the County;

Be a visionary and strategic thinker;

Have the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;

Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and all the devolution laws;

Have the capacity to work under pressure to meet set timelines;

Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya;

Be a committed team player in the achievement of the County’s mission and

goals; and

Should not hold any State or Public Office.

Terms of Service: Contract
Salary: As recommended by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission
