Requirements for Appointment

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Must have a Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Land Surveying and Photogrammetry, Geospatial Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Geospatial and Space Technology or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university;

Have served for at least five (5) years in the field of Land Surveying, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Principal Land Surveyor in the Public Service;

Be a registered member of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (Land Surveyors Chapter);

Have demonstrated administrative ability and professional competence required at this level;

Have a thorough understanding of County Goals, Policies and Development Objectives and the ability to translate them into Land Surveying policies and programmes; and,

Proper understanding of the land issues in the county as well as a certificate in GIS will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Directing and coordinating administrative and technical operations of the division;

Monitoring and evaluating surveying activities within the county;

Executing land cadastral surveys, cartographical, topographical, engineering and county boundary and public utilities survey and mapping;

Improving techniques in surveying and mapping including land information systems, GIS database, computer methods and other modem survey and mapping techniques in the county;

Standardization, calibration and maintenance of surveying and mapping equipment; and,

Preparing reports and technical publications.
