NWHSA - General Manager – Technical Services - Jobs in Kenya

The Authority is seeking to recruit a suitable self-driven, result oriented and highly qualified individual to fill the positon of the General Manager, Technical Services.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO, for the following Responsibilities:

  • Setting goals and oversighting supervision of managers from different divisions;
  • Overseeing training, development and motivation of technical staff;
  • Planning and ensuring performance of the technical services department;
  • Evaluating and monitoring day to day activities of technical services;
  • Coordinating development of operational policies and procedures in the technical services department;
  • Overseeing the implementation of investment strategies, budgets, and plans in provisions of technical services.
  • Ensuring compliance to set standards and procedures in technical services.

    Requirements for Appointment
  • Be a Citizen of Kenya;
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a University recognized in Kenya;
  • A Master’s degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a University recognized in Kenya;
  • An Engineer dully registered by a professional regulator;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Institution of Engineers Kenya (IEK);
  • Minimum 10 years relevant progressive work experience in a development oriented establishment preferably in the Water Sector, at least five (5) of which must be in a Senior Management position;
  • Knowledgeable in the functional areas under the Department which include:- Investments; Construction, Dam Safety, Dam Maintenance; Survey, Safeguards; Planning, and Monitoring & Evaluation;
  • Knowledge of GoK legislation, regulations and rules in relation to functions;
  • Good leadership and management skills with computer proficiency.

    All applicants must provide appropriate evidence of experience (letters of appointment and promotion) and

    provide valid documents required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by attaching copies of the following;
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board;
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority;
  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and
  • Clearance Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau.
