Nutrition International Senior Technical Advisor - Maternal and Newborn Health and Nutrition Jobs in Kenya;The Senior Technical Advisor provides strategic technical leadership to ensure NOURISH programming is evidence‑informed, high quality, and delivers intended outcomes. The role works across consortium partners and Nutrition International teams to provide technical oversight, strengthen learning and knowledge translation, support performance and reporting, and foster collaboration to maximize program impact.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Advisory
Provide high‑quality technical advice to support evidence‑informed decision‑making.
Review and oversee partner workplans, technical designs, theories of change, and outputs.
Ensure monitoring, evaluation, and data align with investments and outcomes.
Enable application of latest evidence and best practices across implementation.
Knowledge Translation & Learning
Lead synthesis and translation of program evidence into accessible knowledge products.
Support development and dissemination of technical briefs, guidance, reports, and learning products.
Contribute to and lead the NOURISH learning agenda.
Representation & Stakeholder Engagement
Represent NOURISH in technical meetings, working groups, and partner engagements.
Build and maintain effective relationships with consortium partners, donors, government stakeholders, and technical networks.
Collaboration & Partnership
Work collaboratively across NOURISH teams to deliver integrated outputs.
Engage with Nutrition International’s regional and HQ teams to mobilize technical expertise.
Support partners in implementing workplans, synthesizing learnings, and enabling cross‑learning.
Reporting & Performance Management
Provide technical leadership in partner reporting.
Ensure evidence‑based reporting that demonstrates progress against KPIs and objectives.
Review performance data to identify opportunities for strengthening implementation.
People Leadership
Provide line management and technical supervision to assigned staff.
Support performance, professional development, and accountability.
Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervision and line management of Technical Advisors.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree (or higher) in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Maternal Health and Nutrition, or International Development.
Minimum 10
years’ experience providing senior technical leadership in international development, public health, or nutrition.
5–7 years’ experience at regional level in senior technical roles.
Experience working across multiple African countries in consortium or multi‑partner settings.
Demonstrated health system experience with nutrition actions for positive pregnancy, including MMS and calcium supplementation.
Experience in public health/nutrition sector in Africa.
Proven ability to translate evidence into program and policy decisions.
Significant experience reviewing technical designs, theories of change, and implementation plans.
Extensive experience supporting monitoring, evaluation, learning, and data use.
Proven experience leading knowledge translation and dissemination.
Experience with large, multi‑country, donor‑funded programs.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team motivation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Cultural sensitivity and ability to tailor solutions to diverse contexts.
Strong project management skills.
Working knowledge of French is an asset.
