The Norwegian Refugee Council in South Sudan is looking for a Warehouse Coordinator to be based in Unity State.

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for defining warehouse management in the field operations within “Hard to Reach” areas and ensures effective and timely support to programme delivery through coordinating with NRC Juba Country office and the donor (WFP).

Job description

  • Implement NRC’s warehouse systems and procedures at Field level
  • Keep stock record of commodities received and released out
  • Ensure record keeping of all food release notes (FRNs)
  • Ensure maintaining of daily stock registers
  • Prepare weekly/Monthly and/or on need basis stock report and share with the Project Manager – RRT- Juba
  • Ensure adherence to Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and donor requirements
  • Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes (e.g. in warehouse stock, procurement, vehicle management, asset management)
  • Ensure safe and efficient transport of staff and materials/goods
  • Supervision, training and development of warehouse staff
  • Monitoring and reporting

    Qualifications
  • Relevant university degree or higher education, preferably in logistic/warehouse management
  • Experience in working with Rapid Response missions while basic facilities are available.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience from working as a warehouse manager/coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Knowledge of donor rules in the view of commodity and warehouse management is an asset.
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Experience in establishing systems and procedures
  • Technical expertise in logistic and emergency programming, required
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of the context in South Sudan. Working experience in South Sudan will be prioritized
  • Experience with start-up, exit or scale down programming
  • Solid understanding and experience of crisis contexts and working in complex emergencies

  • Ability to work under stressful conditions, meet deadlines and travel extensively at short notice to support field operations or capacity building
  • Good networking and collaborations skills
  • Ability to work with diplomacy, tact and sensitivity and experience in working within different cultural contexts requiring cultural sensitivity
