Norwegian Refugee Council NGO Education Project Assistant Jobs in Uganda

Job description

Responsible for community mobilization/sensitization on ALP and other related activities.

Provide on-site support supervision and feedback to ALP teachers and Head teachers.

Ensure community participation, contribution and ownership in the ALP program.

Carry home visits to ALP learners and take part in discussing issues that affect the child as a mentoring process.

Liaise with community leaders to ensure that out of school children benefit from ALP activities.

Identify community concerns that hinder the enrolment of children in ALP, retention and completion and recommend measures to address them.

Prepare weekly and monthly reports on activities within each ALP school with relevant data

Inspect and supervise regularly all the ALP centers/schools.

Ensure a constructive co-operation with local authorities and host schools in implementing ALP activities.

Assist in identification and registration of ALP learners (database)

Assist in updating ALP learners’ and teachers’ data base.

Participate in relevant meetings e.g. child protection meetings

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Education

Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience

At least 1 year of INGO experience in a similar position.

Education

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

High integrity

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Good cultural awareness and sensitivity

Ability to function independently

Excellent computer skills with hands on experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Language

English
