What You Will Do

  • Line management for project staff.

  • Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.

  • Contribute to development of Country, Area, and Education strategies.

  • Coordinate and manage Education project implementation (activities, budget, documentation) in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements.

  • Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects.

  • Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and Education PDM/Specialist.

  • Ensure projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection; explore new and better ways to assist.

  • Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with Core Competencies) and coordinate across Core Competencies.

  • Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.

  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.

  • Promote the rights of displaced people in line with the advocacy strategy.

    What You Will Bring – Professional Competencies

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience from a senior project implementation position in humanitarian/recovery context.

  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.

  • Technical education expertise.

  • Documented results related to responsibilities.

  • Knowledge of own leadership skills/profile.

  • Fluency in English, written and verbal.

  • Knowledge of NGO operations and humanitarian sector dynamics in Borno State an advantage.

  • Background with major humanitarian donors.

  • Experience in emergency preparedness and response.

  • Experience managing and capacity‑building multicultural teams.

  • Experience partnering with local governments and CBOs.

  • Willingness to travel and work in hard‑to‑reach areas.

  • Good cultural awareness and sensitivity.

  • Experience with start‑up or expansion of new programs.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and strategic planning skills.

  • Strong report‑writing skills.

    What We Offer

  • Duty station: Maiduguri, Nigeria.

  • Contract: 6 months with possibility of extension.

  • Salary & Benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s National salary scale.
