Purpose of the Position

  • Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and with a close working relationship with all other departments, the Management Accountant will assist senior management in making critical business decisions by analyzing and presenting key financial data.
  • Responsibility will include working with management to help make upper level management decisions and support management to use financial information to inform business strategy.
  • The management accountant must have an exceptional mathematical mind combined with a strong business orientation.
  • You must be able to assume responsibility for reporting tasks and be both a strategic and decision oriented.
  • The goal is to contribute to the decision making process of management that will ensure business growth and long-term success.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce accurate management accounts to agreed schedules
  • Analyze budget variances and investigate courses and recommend corrective actions
  • Participate in the annual budget preparation including consolidation of budgets and communicating approved budgets and secured funding.
  • Monitor and track new funding and make budget reallocation as are approved by management.
  • Maintain and update the master budget.
  • Gather and analyze financial information for internal use.
  • Make forecasts to assist business planning and decision-making.
  • Conduct funding risk assessment and advise
    on ways to minimize risk.
  • Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost.
  • Advise company and/or department management on financial decisions.
  • Make upper-level strategy recommendations based on financials.

    Qualifications: Education /Knowledge/ Skills and Experience:
  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or similar field; a Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Fully qualified CPA/ACCA
  • 4 years proven experience as management accountant.
  • Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting software and MS Office.
  • Analytical mind with aptitude in math.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A problem-solver with attention to detail.
  • Organizational and leadership skills.
