Reporting to the General Manager Dirties


Responsibilities


  • Ensure total compliance with all relevant legislation on OSHA i.e. 00HSS and NE MA requirements compliance and all other applicable bodies including certifications and keep abreast with all new legislation pertaining to SE in Kenya
  • Participate in all CSH and process audits and ensure that all corrective actions and recommendations ansing from the audits are acted on as per the timeline.
  • Oversee the Security function
  • Coordinate statutory OHS exert see e.g. equipment inspection, effluent analysis
  • Ensure availability of appropriate and functional PPE
  • Train teams on risk assessment, improvement plans, monitor action plans and oversee ongoing security protects Generate required regulatory and other reports as required per Company reporting expectations and update and advice management on all SHE issues.
  • Steer the development and Implementation of the Company's health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Secretary to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee Plan and oversee internal emergency preparedness programs and test the adequacy of emergency preparedness
  • Coordinate the investigation of near misses and dangerous occurrences and develop appropriate recommendations to eliminate/reduce recurrence or m Mode impact.
  • Ensure that OHS claims are lodged in a timely manner with DOHSS and insurers.
  • Maintain a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries. acc dents and dangerous occurrences
  • In Company's premises Translate company SHE policy and commitments into workable plans and communicate the policy to amid yees and other relevant stake holders including 41 suppliers arid subcontractors.
  • Compile and sum t OHS statistics and reports
  • Ensure that all welfare facilities i e. first aid boxes, canteen, toilets, kitchen etc. meet the requisite hygiene standards and operate effectively as per the standard operating procedures


    Requirements


  • Bachelors degree Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Science or Social sciences
  • NEBOSH Certification will give a distinct advantage
  • Sound knowledge and working experience (5 Years)with Kenyan labor laws in respect to OSHA 2007 and conducting statutory and social and its
  • Computer literacy is mandatory.
  • Solid advisory skills
  • Effective organizational and report writing skills
