Nonviolent Peace force (NP), an International NGO founded in 2002, recruits, trains and deploys unarmed civilians to reduce violence and protect vulnerable populations in conflict - affected areas.
has started implementing a three year project titled: Promoting Women’s role in Peace building and Gender-based Violence (GBV) Prevention in South Sudan.
The overall goal of the project is to increase women’s participation in peace-building and protection activities to reduce the prevalence and impact of conflict and GBV on communities. As the project has now reached the half way point, a mid-term evaluation is being commissioned to assess the project progress toward achieving its objectives.

Project Objectives

Primary objective: Promote women’s participation in peace building and protection to reduce the prevalence and impact of conflict and GBV on communities in South Sudan.
Objective 1: Increase the safety and security of women and girls at imminent risk of sexual and gender based violence.
Objective 2: Improve access to and demand for post-incident support services and justice mechanisms for survivors.
Objective 3: Promote positive social-change in communities through awareness raising and outreach activities.
Objective 4: Strengthen the protective capacity of communities & establish sustainable community based protection mechanisms to prevent & respond to GBV.
Objective 5: Promote women’s substantive participation in peace and security at the local, state and national levels.
