Nile Basin Initiative Procurement Officer Jobs in Uganda

NBI Secretariat, Entebbe, Uganda, with possible travel within or outside the Basin Countries as may be deemed necessary by the Employer.

Period of Service

  • Regional Position with an employment duration (term) of six (6) years.

  • Annual contracts are renewable based on satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and need for the services.

    Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement processes in line with NBI policies, donor requirements, and international best practices.

  • Prepare procurement plans, bidding documents, and evaluation reports.

  • Ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance in all procurement activities.

  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support audit processes.

  • Provide technical support to NBI Centres and Member States on procurement matters.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced university degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in procurement management, preferably in regional or international organizations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in public procurement procedures, donor-funded projects, and international procurement standards.

  • Strong knowledge of contract management, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.

  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with water resources management and development cooperation is an added advantage.
