Nile Basin Initiative Knowledge Management Specialist Jobs in Uganda ;The NBI shared vision is to achieve “sustainable socio-economic development through the equitable utilization of, and benefit from, the common Nile Basin water resources.” NBI has three Centres: NBI SEC based in Entebbe, Uganda; NELSAP-CU based in Kigali, Rwanda; and ENTRO based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

NBI Secretariat intends to hire a highly qualified and competent professional for the position of Knowledge Management Specialist. This is a regional recruitment position to be based at the NBI Secretariat in Entebbe, Uganda, and suitably qualified candidates from NBI Member States are encouraged to apply.

Duty Station

NBI Secretariat, Entebbe, Uganda, with possible travel within or outside the Basin Countries as may be deemed necessary by the Employer.

Period of Service

Regional Position with an employment duration (term) of six (6) years.

Annual contracts are renewable based on satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and need for the services.

Responsibilities

Strengthen knowledge management systems and processes across NBI Secretariat.

Support documentation, dissemination, and sharing of lessons learned and best practices.

Facilitate knowledge exchange among NBI Centres and Member States.

Ensure effective use of knowledge management tools and platforms.

Promote organizational learning and capacity building in knowledge management.

Qualifications & Experience

Advanced university degree in Information Management, Knowledge Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in knowledge management, information management, or related areas.

Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing knowledge

management strategies.

Experience working in intergovernmental, regional, or international organizations.

Strong communication, facilitation, and networking skills.

Familiarity with water resources management and development cooperation is an added advantage.
