Job Title: Transmission Engineer

Department: Delivery and Service Business

Department Reports to: Network Service Engineer

Number of Positions: 1

Duty Station: Kigali-Rwanda

Main Purpose of the Job

The Transmission Engineer is responsible for maintaining uptime and quality of the network segment assigned to him by undertaking periodic preventive maintenance activities.

Act as the technical engineer of the Transmission project, manage technical issues such as technical solution development and implementation.

Responsibilities

Network project like Microwave，DWDM OSN, SDH etc. delivery.

Transmission network maintenance, troubleshooting.

Analyze the customer's existing transmission network, needs, and requirements to provide the necessary solution.

Technical Presentations and Participation in Technical discussions with customers.

Transmission network Planning, Performance Analysis and Optimization.

Academic Qualifications

Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or relevant Field

Minimum of 3 years working experience working with and as part of diverse and high-performance team.

Work experience and Required Competences

Good at transmission network product like Microwave，DWDM OSN, SDH etc. Have more than 3 years’ experience.

Good troubleshooting skills, such that faults are promptly identified and rectified to meet the SLAs.

Have experience in

Transmission project delivery or maintenance.

Have a good command of mainstream solutions such as DWDM，Microwave.

Have the ability to handle common network problems and have strong learning capabilities.

Have good communication and teamwork skills. English is preferred

Have a basic command of typical IP core, Metro, and IP RAN solutions and mainstream technologies.

Have the capabilities of solution design, integration commissioning, and live network change implementation.

Have a basic command of the delivery and maintenance processes of IP products and the methods of handling common network problems
