We are looking for a highly dynamic, dedicated, and supportive Special Education Associate Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to gifted students living with disabilities in a variety of educational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction - Deliver classroom instruction that caters to the diverse needs and abilities of students with disabilities, using a variety of teaching methods and materials.

  • Assessment - Continuously assess and monitor students' progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to address their learning challenges.

  • Differentiated Instruction - Modify the curriculum and instructional techniques to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student, accommodating their disabilities.

  • Classroom Management - Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters a positive and accepting atmosphere for students with and without disabilities.

  • Collaboration - Work closely with other educators, specialists, and support staff to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students with special needs.

  • Parent and Guardian Communication - Maintain open and regular communication with parents or guardians, discussing student progress and addressing concerns or questions.

  • Behaviour Management - Implement behaviour intervention plans and strategies to support students with emotional or behavioural challenges.

  • Assistive Technology - Utilize and introduce assistive technology tools and devices to help students access the
    curriculum and improve their learning experience.

  • Individual and Group Instruction - Provide both one-on-one and group instruction as needed to accommodate different learning situations.

  • Inclusion Support - Facilitate the inclusion of students with disabilities in mainstream classrooms, offering necessary support and accommodations.

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Special Education.

  • Must have the ability to be empathetic and patient with the students.

  • Ability to adapt to various teaching situations.

  • Ability to ensure that all students receive a quality education and have the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their disabilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Flexibility and adaptability.
