Overall Job Purpose

Implement the sales strategy within the assigned territories in line with the overall business strategy to achieve the company sales target, growth and profitability.

Key Deliverables for this Position

  • Achieve trade Sales targets & customer base growth

  • Achieve cash and stockholding management targets

  • Achieve Route Adherence and Cost targets

    Key Deliverables

  • Plan and conduct daily market visits for existing and potential customers in the assigned markets to achieve the given sales targets.

    Achieve required daily customer visit hit rate of
  • Design a route to market plan to scout for new markets and business opportunities while ensuring maximum geographical coverage of the company’s products.

  • Conversion of identified sales leads to customers.

  • 100% outlets coverage within the territory
    Sales from new segments/markets

  • A minimum of 7 new outlets are onboarded monthly.

  • Customer Relationship Management by managing and developing alliances with the existing customer base within the assigned markets to enhance the achievement of sales and profitability objectives.

  • Drive high customer service satisfaction through timely resolution and response to sales inquiries and concerns.

    Customer Satisfaction surveys score

  • All customers issues must be attended to within 24hrs

  • Monitoring and reporting of market trends and conditions, competitor activities, products, prices and developments. Prepare and provide relevant reports and information based on the two to guide management decision making.

    Quality and accuracy of market information

  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely weekly / monthly / quarterly sales reports to the manager to facilitate a comprehensive sales performance review and proper planning for the various segments.

    Daily reports as per callage

  • Timely monthly reports on sales and marketing activities vs set targets per outlet and overall territory performance

    Quality and accuracy of reports

  • Participate and represent the company at trade exhibitions, events and promotions to attract new customers, promote our brand and enhance their awareness of the company’s product range.

  • Adherence of designed territory calendar of activities and updated on the territory file.

  • Implement a collection plan geared towards ensuring collection
    targets are achieved and cash flow levels are maximized. Ensure the territory AR is at ero (100% collection) 100% compliance on trading terms by timely payment collections.

  • Conduct periodic product training for existing and potential customers to enhance our brand awareness and product knowledge.

    Academic & Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related course.

  • Diploma in sales and marketing or a professional certification in sales and marketing.

  • Membership of a professional body.

    Relevant Knowledge & Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Sales within a busy manufacturing or FMCG environment.

  • Demonstrated high levels of performance in a field sales environment.

  • Practical experience in use of MS packages and ERP/CRM systems.

  • Market and competitor trends analysis knowledge.

  • Route to market strategy or planning knowledge, 80:20 rule.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the sales and marketing cycle

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent Persuasion, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Ability to communicate to different types of customers both verbally and written.

  • High levels of professionalism with internal and external customers.

  • Excellent Customer Service, Customer Relationship and interpersonal Skills

  • Effective planning and organization skills with the ability to design and execute action plans.
