NFT Psychosocial Associate Counsellors Jobs in Zambia



We are looking for compassionate Psychosocial Associate Counsellors to help students live more fulfilling lives by helping them manage, cope, and overcome their mental and emotional issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to students, staff, and families as appropriate to the position; prepare session plans and follow-up care programs; provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.

  • Record all counselling sessions, ensuring all information is up to date.

  • Provide and/or arrange counselling interventions as appropriate for students in a crisis condition and those with serious disturbance problems.

  • Refers students, youth leaders, staff and parents to appropriate service agencies as required.

  • Participates in the review of counselling/safeguarding policies and procedures.

  • Participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Psychosocial/Trauma counselling or related field.

  • Ability to apply mental health counselling methods and techniques.

  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.

  • Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work
    and mental health counselling principles, methods, procedures, and standards.

  • Ability to evaluate the progress of counselling sessions and to make individual modifications.

  • Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.

  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to the learner's rights.

  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Flexibility and adaptability.
