NFT Primary Level Associate Teachers Jobs in Zambia



We are looking for creative, interactive, engaging, and inspiring primary-level associate teachers to help unlock the unlimited potential of young learners by equipping them with the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to set a solid foundation for academic success and a victorious life.

Responsibilities

Academic Activities

  • Teach all areas of the primary school curriculum.

  • Take responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-age pupils.

  • Organize the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment.

  • Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.

  • Prepare and mark work to facilitate positive pupil development.

  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development.

  • Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants and other relevant professionals to plan and coordinate work.

  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and support colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.

  • Keep up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.

  • Completing administrative work e.g. taking registers and updating records.

  • Extracurricular Activities

  • Running extracurricular activities such as clubs, social activities, and sports events.

  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentations.

  • Maintain discipline and provide a safe & healthy environment.

  • Ensure that pupils are safe and that all child protection and safeguarding measures are followed per AYC child protection and safeguarding policies.

  • Provide feedback to parents, careers and
    AYC management on a pupil's progress.

  • Setting expectations for discipline and behaviour including dealing with inappropriate behaviour according to AYC policy.

  • Meet with other professionals such as education welfare officers and educational psychologists, if required.

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Primary Education

  • Thorough understanding of the pedagogy and best practices of education.

  • Desire to teach secondary (high) school-aged children and their ability to adapt to their developmental status.

  • The ability to design lessons that engagingly teach the curriculum, applying various teaching methods such as the flipped classroom, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and individual or collaborative projects and research.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent people skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Creative analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
