Job Title: IP Engineer

Duty Station: Kigali-Rwanda

Responsibilities

We seek an IP Engineer to join a dynamic team of highly skilled engineer to deliver complex and high-quality solutions, projects and support to the customer. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing and deployment of LAN/WAN/Data Center/Core network solutions to ensure project success with high quality and customer satisfaction

Maintain existing network infrastructure (Routers/Switches/Firewalls) and provide proactive maintenance to ensure network health

Oversee network security and ensure safety of customer networks

Integrate, Migrate and Support various technology and system deployments to ensure E2E connectivity and security

Maintain all network documentation (HLD/LLD/Support Guides) to ensure up-to-date customer network information

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and communication issues, all while ensuring proper document management, communication and follow-up

Work with cross-domain teams to ensure successful solution delivery

Be an escalation point for any network issues, and manage communication to the customer

Assess customer network requirements and ensure high quality solution deployment

Work with project teams to ensure E2E service and solution delivery

Perform regular health checks on customer networks to ensure device health and network safety

Network risk identification, management and mitigation

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree/ M.Sc. in I.T / Computer Science/Engineering or appropriate field of study

Work Experience and Required

Competences

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in busy network environment. Telecom environment is an added advantage

Have experience in IP project delivery or maintenance.

Have a good command of mainstream solutions such as IP CORE, Metro, and IPRAN SD-WAN, WIFI solution.

Have the ability to handle common network problems and have strong learning capabilities.

Have good communication and teamwork skills.

The CCIE or HCIE certificate is preferred

Have a basic command of typical IP core, Metro, and IP RAN solutions and mainstream technologies.

Have the capabilities of solution design, integration commissioning, and live network change implementation.

Have a basic command of the delivery and maintenance processes of IP products and the methods of handling common network problems

Good communication and influence skills.

English language is preferred
