Principal Objective of the Position:

We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Executive (MCE) to plan, manage and implement all internal and external communications activities, to support global and regional marketing objectives.

MCE key objectives are to; communicate effectively with our existing test centres, partners, staff and stakeholders regarding our programmes, products and marketing campaigns, to promote year-on-year growth across all our territories and 2. Promote advocacy and increase awareness of the our brand across Africa, acting as our brand’s voice to promote the importance of digital literacy, the benefits of our Certification and to attract new Test Centres and partners to join our network.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and General Manager, MCE should be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively plan and organize their workload and the initiative to resolve issues quickly, in an appropriate manner.

    This description indicates the general nature and level of work performed by the Marketing & Communication Executive. The actual duties and responsibilities may vary as defined from time to time.

    Responsibilities:

    Campaign planning, development Implementation and Evaluation

  • Lead the planning, development and execution of multi-channel marketing communications campaigns to promote awareness of our brand, programmes, and products

  • Evaluate and review marketing campaigns to track performance and ensure the effective use of resources and return on investment

  • Plan and record all marketing and communications activity in line with global marketing policy

    Website Management

  • Manage content on our website (WordPress), ensuring content is up-to-date and correct at all times

    Social Media Management

  • Plan and post relevant and engaging content across all our social media platforms, in line with approved campaigns and global frequency guidelines

    Newsletters

  • Compile and send newsletters in accordance with global marketing schedule

  • Manage and maintain newsletter subscriber lists

    Copywriting, content creation

  • Source news, case studies, references for brand advocacy and promotional use

  • Write and proof-read marketing copy for both online and print campaigns

  • Produce creative content including videos and social media posts

    Promotional Materials

  • Manage the development and effective distribution of our promotional materials

    3rd Party / Supplier Management

  • Work closely with in-house or external creative agencies to design marketing materials to support approved campaigns

  • Liaise with designers and printers to ensure promotional materials are produced in line with brand identity guidelines, in time and on budget

  • Liaise with external agencies, when appropriate, to effectively manage events, press relationships, editorial requests, presentations, promotional materials and online activities

    Research and Market Intelligence

  • As directed, conduct research, or provide market intelligence for
    new modules, pricing changes, new customer segments, new markets etc.

    Events

  • Organise and/or attend events such as conferences, graduations, seminars, reception, exhibitions, orientation days, government-related activities and any other activity as part

  • Work with the Market Development Teams to determine event budgets and manage expenses to that budget.

  • Coordinate all logistics and communications (where applicable) relating to all events.

  • Create and maintain a calendar of events that clearly shows event details (date, venue, duration), budgets, our staff required to attend etc.

  • Participate in events that can positively influence the uptake of our Programme - conferences, expos, media briefs, graduation ceremonies, orientation days, government-related activities and any other activity as part of stakeholder groups to promote us.

  • Coordinate our projects originating from the Foundation and ensure we are well represented. Projects include Best Practice Awards, Anniversary Celebration/Activities, New Module Launches etc.

  • Provide support to ATCs to promote us to candidates

  • The events are categorized as follows:
    ATC Events – These are events originating from Accredited Test Centers (ATCs) where we have been invited to participate. They include graduations, open days, orientations, market activation days etc.

  • Industry or sector specific events/conferences where we are required to participate/sponsor and other like events across African countries.
    our organized events in different countries such as annual ATC Forums, Train-The-Trainer Workshops, and Testers & Coordinators Workshops.

    Requirements

  • Education: university degree (post-grad or master’s preferred) or equivalent in a related discipline (advertising, business or management, communications, IT or computer science, marketing or similar)

  • Experience: 3-5 years in position(s) which contributes to the development of the below competencies. Relevant marketing and communications experience in the education sector or similar is an advantage.

    Required skills

  • Hands-on experience with web content management tools (WordPress)

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Experience with planning and executing social media campaigns

  • Event management skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work to strict deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Creativity, writing and design skills

  • Good presentation skills

  • Fluent English

    Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics

  • Knowledge of newsletter applications (Campaign Monitor/Mailchimp)

  • Graphic Design Experience

  • Competence with the Adobe Suite ( InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Video Production (Premiere Pro, After Effects)

  • CRM Systems (Microsoft Dynamics)

  • Google Professional Certification

  • Proficient in French
