Purpose of the Job

The Logistics Officer is to support the Project Manager and manage the acquisition and procurement needs of the project.

Principle Accountabilities

Procure goods, components and parts according to established purchasing policies and procedures;

Liaise with a variety of parties, including suppliers of raw materials, manufactures, retailers and increasingly consumers;

Work with suppliers to negotiate and achieve best pricing to minimize overall costs;

Keep an updated database of suppliers and price list in the region;

Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors on delivery and payment terms. Be responsible for inventory control;

Receive of incoming goods and materials;

Handle Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders;

Coordinate with Finance to ensure the proper invoicing and reconciliations of all payments made to suppliers;

Perform Ad-hoc administration duties assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

Degree Holder with 3 years of experience in Logistics

Proactive and able to work independently

Ability to work well in changing, entrepreneurial environments.

Team oriented personality.

Outgoing, flexible and proactive personality.

Proven ability to operate under pressure.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Regional experience is an added advantage.
