Job Summary
Oversee recruitment, screening, vetting, training and performance monitoring of security personnel to ensure deployment of competent, disciplined, physically fit and operationally ready security officers.
Support the organization in maintaining high standards of integrity, professionalism, compliance and operational effectiveness across all security personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Candidate Screening
Plan, organize and coordinate recruitment drives for security personnel.
Source, attract and identify suitable candidates while supporting appropriate regional representation.
Screen applicants against established recruitment standards and eligibility criteria.
Coordinate interviews, assessments and selection processes.
Maintain accurate recruitment records, candidate databases and screening documentation.
Ensure recruitment processes comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Vetting & Background Verification
Conduct candidate vetting and background verification in accordance with approved procedures.
Verify authenticity of National Identification Cards and other personal documents.
Validate Certificates of Good Conduct through appropriate verification channels.
Conduct reference checks and background investigations where required.
Identify, document and escalate discrepancies, irregularities or integrity concerns discovered during vetting.
Maintain accurate records of all vetting and verification activities.
Training & Deployment Preparation
Conduct theoretical and practical training programmes for security personnel.
Deliver physical drills, operational exercises and deployment readiness training.
Ensure training programmes comply with applicable Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA) standards and requirements.
Prepare recruits for operational deployment through classroom and field-based instruction.
Assess trainee performance and readiness before deployment.
Identify training needs and coordinate refresher training programmes.
Maintain training records and attendance documentation.
Performance Monitoring & Employee Development
Monitor performance of security personnel during probation and post-deployment periods.
Conduct performance evaluations and operational assessments.
Identify competency gaps and recommend corrective actions and development plans.
Coordinate refresher training and continuous improvement programmes.
Promote employee engagement, discipline and adherence to operational procedures.
Support implementation of performance improvement initiatives.
Reinforce standards of professionalism, integrity and accountability among security personnel.
Qualifications
Diploma in Security Management, Criminology or a related field.
Additional qualifications in Human Resource Management, Training, Security Operations or Leadership are an added advantage.
Knowledge of Private Security
Regulatory Authority (PSRA) guidelines and requirements.
Understanding of Kenyan labour laws and security industry regulations.
Experience
Minimum three (3) years of experience in private security operations, National Youth Service (NYS) or disciplined forces.
Experience in recruitment, personnel screening, vetting or training is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching and developing security personnel.
Experience conducting physical drills and operational readiness training programmes.
Experience managing employee performance and disciplinary matters is an added advantage.
