Nestle Sectional Maintenance Engineer - Mossel Bay Jobs in South Africa;The Sectional Maintenance Engineer will support and participate in the implementation of the factory asset maintenance programme aimed at eliminating unplanned stops, optimising maintenance costs, and increasing asset intensity.

The role drives line reliability, improves equipment performance, and supports energy‑saving and sustainability initiatives within the factory.

Responsibilities

Manage Existing Assets – Planned Maintenance

  • Participate in maintenance routines to ensure timely and quality execution

  • Support implementation of maintenance methodologies, including Preventive Maintenance foundations

  • Master and coach breakdown analysis to improve reliability and reduce recurring failures

  • Ensure effective utilisation of the Asset Maintenance Management system

  • Drive line reliability by reducing breakdowns and recurring inefficiencies

    Manage Existing Assets – Budget Management

  • Provide input into annual maintenance budget and track spend

  • Analyse over/under‑spend and propose corrective actions

  • Deliver optimal maintenance outcomes while managing costs and resources

    Build Engineering Capability

  • Support competence building plans for the maintenance team

  • Build maintenance methodology competencies within Engineering

  • Assist with technical training programmes for factory staff

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary support across mechanical, electrical, and automation resources

    Manage Existing Assets – Production Support

  • Support implementation of Asset Maintenance pillar methodologies

  • Assist production teams to eliminate quality defects, safety risks, and chronic issues

  • Troubleshoot with teams to ensure required output

  • Lead initiatives to improve line efficiency, speed, and performance

    Define and Adhere to Standards

  • Support implementation of applicable standards

  • Ensure adherence to standards within area
    of responsibility

  • Support long‑term asset reliability through spares planning and sustainable practices

    Qualifications

    Education

  • Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

    Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering management/maintenance within manufacturing

  • FMCG or food processing experience advantageous

  • Experience with plant maintenance, machinery, packaging equipment, and high‑speed filling lines

  • At least 2 years’ leadership experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance methodology and Asset Maintenance systems (SAP PM module preferred)

  • Experience in project management, execution, budget control, and procurement

  • Strong troubleshooting, breakdown analysis, and continuous improvement capability
