Job Purpose

  • To influence the understanding and thinking of customer and consumer behaviour through foresight and leadership; customer insight; market and customer analytics; governance; consulting and advisory to enable business to achieve its objectives.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the gathering and integration of insights across the various client touch points in collaboration with Client experience, Channels and Digital.

  • Develop the insights strategy and plan by understanding how consumers are interacting with Nedbank across touchpoints and life stages.

  • Design; develop and implement research and insight projects by engaging and collaborating with internal.

  • Address business needs by proactively identifying opportunities to initiate strategic projects.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify research solutions to projects.

  • Contribute to resolution of strategic issues by acting as the advisory / consultative function.

  • Assist in cross-cluster decision making through collaborative resolution and problem solving.

  • Assist in the identification of strategic opportunities for Group through market analytics and research

  • Evaluate threats and opportunities in terms of impact and risk through analytics and research.

  • Report on key strategic outcomes/results to various stakeholders (staff, regulators, shareholders, clients and communities) through reports and presentations.

  • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers.

  • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed, experience practiced, and certifications obtained and/or maintained within specified time frames.

  • Enable skilling and required corrective action to take place by sharing knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction

  • Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that
    will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.

  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).

  • Research and make recommendations for corporate citizenship initiatives in area of influence

  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g. Green Strategy).

    Essential Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing

    Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor of Commerce: Honours - Marketing

    Minimum Experience Level

  • 5 - 7 years managing a research function and exposure to financial services
