NCBA Group Product Owner Jobs in Kenya; The Product Owner is responsible for managing a product throughout its lifecycle, ensuring customer needs are met, and aligning product development with company strategy and goals. The role involves designing, developing, promoting, and maintaining products and delivery channels, while driving innovation and managing the allocated portfolio across operating countries.

Key Accountabilities

Product Acceleration – 35%

  • Manage feature development end-to-end, providing guidance and feedback to Product Analysts and Engineers.

  • Take ownership of products and drive business-planning processes across cross-functional teams.

  • Act as the voice of the customer in product development.

  • Develop use cases documentation and mock-ups for customer journeys.

  • Collaborate with Managers in Customer Management, Operations, Portfolio Management, Data Science, and Engineers.

  • Drive teams to acquire necessary data to back assumptions and prioritize effectively.

    Product Strategy – 30%

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates products across market segments.

  • Define product propositions and go-to-market strategies for new expansion markets.

  • Align stakeholders around product vision and prioritize features.

  • Meet with C-suite to discuss financial data and operational improvements.

    Customer – 20%

  • Develop deep understanding of users and gauge customer needs.

  • Drive execution of product lifecycle processes including research, analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap, requirements, and launch.

  • Identify opportunity areas with Senior Product Manager and implement effective solutions.

  • Run experiments to improve conversion ratios, adoption of features, and customer experience.

  • Send quality messages and notifications to customers at the right time.

  • Remove friction from user experience.

    Learning and Growth – 15%

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives within the Product department.

  • Maintain high performance and personal growth.

  • Help team members achieve career growth plans.

  • Ensure competency assessments and
    development plans are up-to-date.

  • Foster collaboration among staff and stakeholders to achieve business goals.

    Job Specifications

    Academic

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative subject area; or equivalent experience.

    Desired Work Experience

  • 5+ years of product management experience shipping world-class products.

  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas including product management, engineering, UX/UI, sales, customer support, finance, or marketing.

  • Understanding of go-to-market commerce enablers (payments, loyalty, subscriptions).

  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Experience building intuitive UI and premium UX for large feature sets on small screens.

  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills.

  • Proven experience shipping high-quality product features at a Fintech company.

  • Ability to achieve strategic goals and evolve product strategy based on research and industry trends.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Strong empathy for customers and commitment to user-centered design.

  • Experience working with third parties, APIs, and integration plans.

  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Experience using A/B testing to inform product improvements.

  • Proven capabilities in leading design thinking/co-creation engagements.

  • Experience managing medium-sized, diverse teams of designers and developers.
