Job Purpose Statement

Overall responsible for the Sales, Distribution and Marketing in the Bancassurance business through the development and execution of the agency’s strategy for business growth. The role drives synergy with other business heads for Bancassurance support and broader organizational strategic planning to ensure competitive
positioning of the bank in its target markets.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

Financial

  • Develop and execute business strategies that ensure the sustainable growth of the subsidiary from sales,

  • Enhance the breadth and depth of the product lines to achieve and sustain increased penetration into the bank’s customer base

  • Ensure achievement of set revenue objectives, product mix and retention rates.

  • Build strong networks and foster positive, productive and mutually beneficial business partnerships and relationships both internally and externally.

  • Cross-selling other bank products such as CASA, Assets etc

    Internal business processes

  • Ensure adherence of the Bancassurance Intermediary sales undertakings as stipulated in the Insurance Act and CBK Incidental Business guidelines.

  • Compliance with all audit requirements of the bank and insurance agency- Prudential Guidelines, RCSA, BCP and other reporting requirements.

  • Responsible for qualitative and quantitative reporting of business performance.

  • Ensure overall delivery and quality of the products and services to customers.

  • Oversee talent development programs, retention
    and succession planning for

    the BDteam.

    Customer

  • Ensure that there is a robust departmental internal customersatisfaction rating by ensuring
    the team lives the bank’s Values.

  • Responsible for driving customer satisfaction,
    developing and growing relationships with existing
    and potential customers, identifying opportunities for business

  • Development and providing insightful feedback on products and solutions that help in the customization and development of new products /solutions.

    Learning and growth

  • Ensure that there is proper succession plans for key roles within BD and carer development for direct reports.

  • Ensure achievement required hours of
    learning/training for both self and direct report
    through E-learning, Internal & External training
    activities

  • Ensure compliance with the leave policy on block leave and minimum carry over for both self and direct reports.

    Job Specifications

  • Academic: A Bachelor’s degree any Business related field.

  • Professional: Diploma in Insurance or its equivalent

  • Desired work experience: 10 years in insurance field and 5 years in Management
