Job Purpose Statement

Generate annual commission revenue for Bancassurance products from bank and non-bank
customers Retail Banking with Bancassurance BD team and RMs in-order to convert insurance
from Retail banking channels.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

Financial

  • Achieve Bancassurance retail banking insurance sales targets as per the agency’s budget.

  • Retention of customers within the assigned portfolio - Ensure retention ratio of 90%.

  • Develop and execute marketing programs in line with the Bancassurance strategy for business growth e.g. Retail business Upcountry region assigned schemes

  • Upsell and cross sell insurance to existing Retail banking

  • Nairobi & Upcountry region assigned customers as per stipulated targets.

    Internal business processes

  • Conduct weekly client visits and prepare respective call reports for Nairobi & Upcountry region assigned Retail business.

  • Manage business production SLA with insurers - Ensure the agency achieves the set premiums and business diversity
    goals.

  • Maintain favourable product mix balance between motor and non-motor policies i.e. 60/40 ratio.

  • Oversee quality control in all aspects of Nairobi & upcountry region (assigned portfolio) Retail business processing as stipulated in the procedure and product manuals.

  • Prepare relevant production reports i.e. Retail business development performance reports and market intelligence reports on players in the insurance industry 100% adherence to policies, procedures and statutory guidelines.

  • Audit, Compliance and Risk Rating = Satisfactory.

  • Audit issues closed within the quarter of identification, or within the agreed time frames, whichever is shorter.

    Customer

  • Management of customer expectations: Follow-up with Bancassurance client services team on underwriting and claims processing to ensure customer service standards are met.

    Learning and growth

  • Adequacy of personal competence to effectively perform relationship management tasks for Bancassurance.

  • Coordinate and conduct training of various bank teams and customers within your portfolios

  • Ensure compliance with the leave policy on block leave and minimum carry over.

  • Maintain own high performance.

    Ideal Job Specifications

    Academic:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field, preferable B.Com Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science and Insurance.

  • COP in Insurance would be an added advantage. Successful candidate will be required to sit and pass the exams within 6 months of joining.

    Professional:

  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Packages

    Desired work experience:

  • At least 3 years working experience with insurance providers. Sales experience in Retail
    insurance is an added advantage

  • Communicates information in various formats to best address the customer’s needs.

  • Captures relevant customer information and leads from the engagement so as to.

  • Continually serve the customer in the most in an appropriate way.

    Product Knowledge

  • Broad based working knowledge of all Bancassurance products offered by the bank (breadth and depth).

  • Ability to combine different product offering to create a value-adding solutions for customers.

    Industry Knowledge

  • Has common knowledge about the industry / sector.

  • Continuously builds industry knowledge through engagements with players in the industry, and through other knowledge sharing/building
    interventions: periodicals, seminars, workshops, forums, etc.
