National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) Senior Laboratory Analyst (physiochemical Analysis) Jobs in Kenya
Job Summary
Support physiochemical testing and laboratory operations through sample preparation, analytical testing, quality assurance, inventory management and implementation of laboratory procedures.
Ensure laboratory analyses are conducted in compliance with established protocols, quality standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory activities and testing processes.
Prepare laboratory reagents, solutions, specimens and samples required for routine analysis.
Generate, compile and maintain laboratory test reports.
Participate in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programmes and compliance activities.
Conduct stock-taking exercises, including chemical inventories, and manage laboratory inventory records.
Perform Proficiency Testing (PT) and Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC) tests in accordance with approved protocols.
Clean and maintain specialized laboratory equipment.
Decontaminate and sterilize glassware used in biological and laboratory analyses.
Validate cleaning procedures for glassware, laboratory equipment and biological analysis work surfaces.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership to a relevant professional body and registration certificate where applicable.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Experience
Minimum cumulative service period of six (6) years of relevant work experience.
At least three (3) years of experience at the level
of Laboratory Analyst I or in a comparable position.
