National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) Senior Laboratory Analyst (Medical Devices) Jobs in Kenya
Job Summary
Support medical device testing and laboratory operations through analytical testing, quality assurance, environmental health and safety compliance, inventory management and implementation of laboratory procedures.
Ensure laboratory analyses are conducted in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations and testing activities.
Prepare laboratory reagents, solutions, specimens and samples for routine analysis.
Generate and review laboratory test reports.
Participate in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programmes and activities.
Conduct stock-taking exercises, including chemicals and laboratory consumables, and manage inventories.
Perform Proficiency Testing (PT) and Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC) testing in accordance with approved protocols.
Clean and maintain specialized laboratory equipment.
Decontaminate and sterilize glassware used for biological analysis.
Validate cleaning processes for glassware, laboratory equipment and biological analysis surfaces.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership to a relevant professional body and registration certificate where applicable.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Experience
Minimum cumulative service period of six (6) years
of relevant work experience.
At least three (3) years of experience at the level of Laboratory Analyst I or in a comparable position.
