National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) Principal Laboratory Analyst (Research, Innovation & Knowledge Management) Jobs in Kenya
Job Summary
Support research, innovation and knowledge management initiatives through advanced laboratory analysis, implementation of quality management systems, biosafety compliance and participation in surveillance and quality assurance activities.
Ensure analytical processes, laboratory operations and testing activities comply with regulatory, safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct performance verification of analytical columns, Class A glassware and methods of analysis.
Implement biosafety and biosecurity frameworks within the laboratory.
Ensure compliance with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) requirements for all chemicals used in laboratory operations.
Manage analytical samples by ensuring proper labelling, sorting and storage in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
Implement quality management systems and risk management strategies.
Participate in internal audits, investigations and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
Perform cleaning and maintenance of specialized laboratory equipment.
Implement laboratory waste management plans and disposal procedures.
Participate in surveys and post-market surveillance activities for Health Products and Technologies (HPTs).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership to a relevant professional body and registration certificate where applicable.
Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Experience
Minimum cumulative service period of nine (9) years of relevant work experience.
At least three (3) years of experience at the level of Senior Laboratory Analyst or in a comparable position.
