National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) Principal Laboratory Analyst (Medical Devices) Jobs in Kenya
Job Summary
Lead and coordinate laboratory analytical activities related to medical devices while ensuring compliance with quality management systems, biosafety requirements, laboratory procedures and regulatory standards.
Support implementation of quality assurance, risk management and post-market surveillance activities within the laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct performance verification of chromatographic columns, Class A glassware and analytical methods.
Implement biosafety and biosecurity frameworks within the laboratory.
Ensure adherence to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) requirements for all chemicals used in laboratory operations.
Manage analytical samples by ensuring proper labeling, sorting, storage and handling in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Implement quality management systems and risk management strategies.
Participate in internal audits, investigations and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
Perform cleaning and maintenance of specialized laboratory equipment.
Implement the laboratory waste management plan and related disposal procedures.
Participate in surveys and post-market surveillance activities for Health Products and Technologies (HPTs).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Membership to a relevant professional body and registration certificate where applicable.
Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Experience
Minimum
cumulative service period of nine (9) years of relevant work experience.
At least three (3) years of experience at the level of Senior Laboratory Analyst or in a comparable position.
