Job Summary

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall managing and coordination of projects that NaPAN through its partners implement.

  • He/she will be responsible for providing technical support and capacity building for project implementing partners.

  • The Project Manager will also be responsible for the overall project design, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation of projects.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the proper implementation of NaPAN research and intervention: projects particularly, the incumbent will manage the implementation of the LF-MMDP project which is one pillar in the DFID funded programme known as Accelerating the Sustainable Control and Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (ASCEND).

  • Provide capacity building training on project implementation and management skills to implementing member organizations.

  • Provide training to government clinical health workers on lymphoedema morbidity management and other NTDs intensified case detection and management.

  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of all reports for stakeholders, guide implementing partners in preparing their progress reports and ensure their timely submission.

  • Undertake regular supportive supervision visits to project implementation districts in collaboration with federal ministry of health, regional health bureaus, woreda health offices and implementing partners.

  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of progress reports for NaPAN Management including identification of problems, causes of potential bottlenecks in implementation, and providing specific recommendations.

  • Manage and coordinate periodic project review meetings with, regional health bureaus and woreda health offices and implementing partners to
    assess the performance of projects.

  • Manage and coordinate the identification and documentation of best practices, success stories and lesson learned and recommend changes to project components.

  • Manage, coordinate and facilitate the exchange of experiences and information among implementing partners and stakeholders.

  • Supporting the office in identifying potential donors, maintaining partnerships and resource mobilization efforts.

    Job Requirements

    Qualification and Experience Required

  • BSc degree in nursing or public health with at least three years’ experience in clinical setting and two years in health related project monitoring, coordination and management.

  • Or BSc degree in nursing or health officer and Master’s degree in public health with at least two years’ work experience in clinical setting and at least one year in health related project management

  • Prior experience on skin Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) particularly on Lymphatic Filariasis and podoconiosis

  • Excellent communication, team building and training skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations among implementing partners

  • Excellent report writing and capacity building skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks at a time
