National Legal Aid Service Senior Accountant Jobs in Kenya



Qualifications

  • At least six (6) years cumulative work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Accountant I or comparable position.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business Administration/Management (Finance or Accounting option), or equivalent.

  • Part III of CPA Examination or equivalent.

  • Member of ICPAK, ACCA, or other relevant professional body.

  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Generate invoices for approvals.

  • Verify billed amounts per regulations.

  • Facilitate prompt delivery of sales invoices.

  • Participate in debt collection and follow‑up.

  • Respond to debtor queries.

  • Reconcile and distribute debtor statements.

  • Maintain file of disputed invoices.

  • Carry out monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Process payment vouchers including payroll.

  • Process statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, withholding tax, etc.).

  • Supervise stock taking and reconciliation.

  • Verify payment vouchers and staff imprest.

  • Reconcile general ledger expense accounts.

  • Maintain accurate prepayments, accruals, and provision schedules.

  • Carry out bank transfers and banking.

  • Prepare periodic financial statements and statutory accounts.

  • Prepare outstanding debts and accounting reports.
