National Housing Corporation Legal Assistant Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as; plaints, notice of motions, chamber summons, originating summons, miscellaneous applications, references, petitions, affidavits and such other pleadings;

  • Interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case;

  • Verify legal documents and fee notes drawn by external lawyers.

  • Liaise with external lawyers to facilitate an efficient collection and preparation of information related to court cases.

  • Prepare and authenticate standard legal documents.

  • Filing of legal briefs and opinions.

  • Attending court sessions and taking notes of proceedings.

  • Filing appeals in appropriate courts.

  • Examine public and other lawful records and write opinions.

  • Keep log of environmental law matters.

  • Draft responses to correspondences on legal matters on behalf of the Corporation.

  • Collection and preparation of information related to Court.

    Qualifications

    The job holder must possess;

  • Have O’ level KCSE mean Grade C (plain) or KCE Division III.

  • Possess a Diploma in Law and or legal studies from the Kenya School of Law or other recognised institution.

  • Have three (3) years experience in the discharge of legal duties.

  • Must be a registered Court Process Server.

  • Be a team player with skills in the use of Ms Office Suite.

  • Note: Successful candidates will be subject to performance contracting.
