National Housing and Construction Company Security Assistant Jobs in Uganda


Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for providing security support services throughout the Company, with a view to ensuring the security of all Company property, workforce and other stakeholders, as well as a safe and risk-free working environment.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementation of Security policies, systems and procedures as well as enforcing security rules and regulations in the Company.

  • Offer support in the selection of appropriate private Security Service Provider firms for hire by the Company.

  • Supervise all security personnel hired from private firms and ensure that they perform their duties professionally and in accordance with their contracts, as well as participate in the evaluation of their performance.

  • Participate in carrying out periodic Security Risk Assessment and advise on required remedial action.

  • Liaise with Construction Managers on matters relating to security deployment at the Company sites and recommend necessary action.

  • Liaise and maintain contacts with the relevant local Police Stations and other local law enforcement authorities to expeditiously provide security, investigation and law enforcement services and support to the Company, as and when necessary.

  • Support the department in handling all other matters relating to security in the Company.

  • Prepare monthly and adhoc security reports regarding the security situation and activities in the Company and submit them to the Administration Officer.

  • Perform any other duties as may, be assigned from time to time, by relevant authority.

    Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Uganda Certificate of Education and a Certificate in appropriate specialized Security training by the Police Force, or any other recognized and certified Security Organization

  • Possession of a Diploma in Administrative Law, or a closely related and relevant
    field from a recognized institution shall be an added advantage.

  • Possession of a valid Riders License and a valid Driving License shall be an added advantage.

  • Proficiency in application of MS Office Package (Word & Excel,) and related packages is essential.

  • Relevant working experience of two (2) years, as a Security Assistant or in a similar position, in a large and reputable public or private sector organization.

    Relevant Competencies:

  • High level of ethics, integrity & Credibility

  • Analytical, problem solving, negotiation skills.

  • Good presentation, communication and reporting skills.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Ability to work for long hours with high level of flexibility
